Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle

The walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle is one of Northumberland's most iconic coastal outings, following the shoreline north from a working fishing village to the dramatic ruins of a fourteenth-century castle perched on a basalt headland above the sea. This 7.2 km circular stays close to the coast throughout, crossing grassy clifftop, rough foreshore and low dunes with the castle growing larger with every step.
