Lee Valley Regional Park: Fishers Green to Broxbourne

The Lee Valley Regional Park follows the River Lee through Hertfordshire, and this 8 km section from Fishers Green to Broxbourne combines riverside paths, lakes and meadows in a surprisingly green corridor despite the urban edges. The Navigation provides water throughout, and the surfaced towpath makes this accessible walking regardless of weather. Lakes on either side of the river attract constant bird activity, and the meadows between water bodies open up the landscape with wider views and green space. The valley is flat throughout, making this excellent for sustained distance without elevation.

The Navigation towpath offers steady, rhythmic walking with narrowboats adding movement and interest, while the meadows provide open running space for dogs with energy to burn. Off-lead potential is moderate across the quieter meadow sections, and livestock risk is low.
