Worcester Woods Country Park Circuit

Worcester Woods Country Park covers 100 acres on the southern edge of Worcester where mixed woodland, hay meadows and ponds provide proper countryside walking within sight of the city boundary. The 4.8 km circuit connects different habitats through a network of paths — surfaced in places, soft earth in others — that wind between ancient woodland fragments of oak, ash and hazel, open meadows cut for hay, and ponds attracting wildfowl year-round. The 55 metres of total climbing creates gentle undulation without any steep sections, and the scale is large enough for the walk to feel like a genuine outing rather than a quick park loop. This dog friendly walk offers moderate off-lead potential, though leads are wise through meadow sections where livestock may be grazing. The woodland sections are the best for off-lead freedom — dense enough to feel like proper forest with rich scent from leaf litter, fungi and damp earth. The meadows provide open running space when stock-free, and the ponds offer water interest with waterfowl keeping scent-driven dogs alert.
