Eastoke Beach

Eastoke Beach sits at the southeastern corner of Hayling Island, part of the long Blue Flag frontage that stretches along the island's southern coast. The beach is a mix of sand and pebble, gently shelving into calm, clear water that makes it a favourite with families and windsurfers alike. Hayling Island is widely regarded as the birthplace of windsurfing, and the conditions off Eastoke continue to attract water sports enthusiasts throughout the season. The beach opens onto a wide expanse of Hayling Bay, with views west towards Portsmouth and east towards Chichester Harbour, and the surrounding area includes nature reserves and tidal inlets that add interest for those exploring on foot.

Dogs face seasonal restrictions on the central Blue Flag section of Hayling Island beach between 1 May and 30 September, but are permitted year-round at Eastoke from Bosmere Road to the lifeboat station, which covers a good stretch of this end of the island. From October to April, dogs are welcome across all Hayling Island beaches with no restrictions. The Havant Borough Council PSPO governs access, so checking signage on arrival is advisable. A pay and display car park at Eastoke is well-signed from the island road, and there are toilets and a seasonal cafe at Beachlands to the west.
