Mundesley Beach

Mundesley Beach is a long, sandy award-winning beach in the traditional Norfolk seaside village of Mundesley, considered by many visitors to be one of the finest beaches on the Norfolk coast. The beach is backed by a promenade with brightly painted beach huts and low cliffs, and the village itself is compact and well served with a pub, cafes, a village shop and public toilets. The Beach Hut Cafe at the top of the beach ramp is dog friendly and provides water bowls for visiting dogs. The Ship Inn a short walk along Beach Road also welcomes dogs into the bar. Mundesley is a Blue Flag beach and has a genuine traditional seaside resort character without the scale or crowds of Cromer.

A seasonal dog restriction applies at Mundesley under the North Norfolk PSPO from 1 May to 30 September, covering the main beach and promenade section. However, the restriction is more limited than at Cromer: the sandy beach outside the promenade section remains accessible to dogs, reached via the walkways leading down from the cliffs at either end. Outside the restricted season, the whole beach is open to dogs and this dog friendly beach is excellent for long coastal walks north toward Overstrand or south toward Bacton and Walcott at low tide. Pay-and-display parking is available in the clifftop car park with public toilets.
