Dunaverty Bay

Dunaverty Bay is a sandy beach adjacent to Southend at the southern end of Kintyre, sharing much of the same character and setting as Southend Beach. The bay takes its name from the Dunaverty Rock, site of a Campbell stronghold where a famous massacre occurred in 1647. The bay is sandy, sheltered and quiet, with the same outstanding views south to Ireland and the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse road winding away on the headland.
