Barassie Beach
South Ayrshire
Barassie Beach is a wide, open sandy beach on the Ayrshire coast north of Troon, backed by dunes and the Barassie Links golf course. The beach faces west across the Firth of Clyde toward Arran and forms part of a long, largely unbroken stretch of Ayrshire coast connecting to Irvine to the north. It is popular with local dog walkers and is generally quieter than the main resort beaches at Troon itself.
No dog restrictions apply at Barassie Beach under Scottish law. Year-round dog access. The long flat sands at low tide provide excellent off-lead space, and sunset views toward Arran are outstanding on clear evenings.
