Mellon Udrigle Beach
Highlands
Mellon Udrigle Beach is a beautiful, very remote white sand beach on the Wester Ross coast near Gruinard Bay, backed by a small collection of cottages and looking west across Loch Broom toward the Outer Hebrides. The beach is outstanding for its combination of white sand, clear turquoise water and the dramatic backdrop of An Teallach and the Torridonian sandstone mountains. Very rarely visited outside summer and completely unspoiled.
No dog restrictions apply. Year-round access. Remote and wild.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, dogs are welcome at Mellon Udrigle Beach throughout the year with no seasonal restrictions. Outside of summer it's very rarely visited, so you and your dog are likely to have the whole place to yourselves.
Mellon Udrigle is a genuinely remote beach, so come fully prepared — there are no facilities on site, and the nearest town with amenities is Ullapool, around 25km away. There is a small car park near the beach, but beyond that it's wild and self-sufficient territory, which is a big part of its appeal.
