Oldshoremore Beach

Highlands

Dog Friendly Rating: 9/10 A wide, remote sandy beach near Kinlochbervie in north-west Sutherland with year-round dog access, turquoise Atlantic waters and the extraordinary emptiness of one of Scotland's most northerly west-coast beaches.

Oldshoremore Beach is a wide, remote sandy beach near Kinlochbervie in north-west Sutherland, backed by dunes and looking west across the North Atlantic. This is one of the most northerly west-facing sandy beaches on the Scottish mainland and the scenery is utterly spectacular: white sand, turquoise water, and the vast emptiness of the Atlantic to the west. Very rarely visited despite its extraordinary quality.
