Sanna Bay
Highlands
Sanna Bay is a remote, extraordinary beach at the far tip of the Ardnamurchan peninsula, the most westerly point on the British mainland. The beach is reached via a long single-track road from Kilchoan, and the sense of arriving at something genuinely special at the world's edge is intense. The sands are white and fine, the water turquoise in good light, and the views encompass the Small Isles of Rum, Eigg, Muck and Coll as well as the distant Outer Hebrides. Sanna Bay is consistently listed among the finest beaches in Scotland.
No dog restrictions apply at Sanna Bay. Year-round dog access under Scotland's Land Reform Act. The wild, remote character and low visitor numbers make this an outstanding off-lead environment. Dogs should be supervised near the cliff sections at the bay's edges.
