Ballyholme Beach
County Down
Ballyholme Beach is a wide, sheltered sandy beach at Ballyholme Bay in Bangor, one of the most popular beaches in the Greater Belfast area. The beach is backed by a promenade, cafes and the residential esplanade of this affluent Bangor suburb. The bay is sheltered and very popular for sailing, with the Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club based here.
Dog control orders apply at Ballyholme: dogs must be on leads on designated promenade areas. The beach is dog friendly with leads. Ballyholme is not under the same seasonal exemptions as some resort beaches; year-round access is the norm here.
