Hartlebury Common Nature Reserve Walk

Hartlebury Common is the biggest lowland heath in Worcestershire, a designated SSSI of sand, gorse and silver birch just east of Stourport on Severn. It is genuinely dog friendly, with gated car parks that allow dogs to come straight off the lead once inside.
A waymarked 1.5 km Heather Trail gives a quick introduction, but most owners take in a looser 4 km tour around the perimeter using the sandy tracks and narrower paths through the heather. The sandy underfoot is a favourite for dogs that love to dig, and there is no livestock on the common itself. Free parking is at Wilden Top and a handful of smaller lay-bys on the A4025.

The waymarked Heather Trail is 1.5 km if you want a shorter outing, but most people enjoy a longer 4 km loop around the perimeter on the sandy tracks.
