Sinah Warren Beach

Sinah Warren Beach occupies the southwestern tip of Hayling Island, where the coast faces west across the entrance to Langstone Harbour rather than south into open water. The setting is distinctive: backed by the extensive grounds of the former Sinah Warren hotel complex and Sinah Common, the beach sits within a sheltered inlet with views across the harbour towards Eastney and the eastern edge of Portsmouth. The foreshore is a mix of pebble and sand, less exposed than the island's southern beaches, and the harbour entrance to the northwest gives the spot a dynamic, tidal feel. The nearby Ferry Boat Inn marks the end of Ferry Road and the departure point for the historic foot ferry to Portsmouth, which has run from this point for centuries.

Dogs are welcome at Sinah Warren Beach year-round, as this stretch falls outside the Blue Flag restriction zones that apply to the central Hayling Island frontage. The pebble and grass foreshore, combined with the open common behind the beach, makes for a good dog-walking circuit. The adjacent Sinah Common is a designated nature reserve supporting unusual coastal flora, so keeping dogs under control in that area is considerate. Parking is available at the end of Ferry Road. There are no dedicated beach facilities at this end of the island, but the Ferry Boat Inn is within easy walking distance.
