Whether you’re looking for a quiet pitch with mountain views or a lively site near some of the park’s best walking routes, there are plenty of campsites here that welcome dogs with open arms.

In this guide, we’ve handpicked some of the best dog friendly campsites in Snowdonia. These places that don’t just tolerate dogs, but actively make them part of the adventure.


Graig Wen, Arthog

Perched on the edge of the Mawddach Estuary near Barmouth, Graig Wen combines wild beauty with a welcoming community feel. The site has everything from tent pitches tucked among the trees to glamping yurts and cottages, all of which accept dogs. The sites owners have their own dogs, 2 rescue lurchers by the names of Bryn and Franklin.

Dogs will love the woodland walks leading directly from the campsite down to the estuary trail, which joins the popular Mawddach Trail – a flat, traffic-free route perfect for dog walks.

There is a small charge for dogs on site, however, the money is donated to Almost Home Dog Rescue and over the last few years has donated £3,000 from camper contributions. A charge that anyone visiting should be glad to pay!

Tyn Yr Onnen Farm, Caernarfon
