Brancaster Staithe to Burnham Deepdale Coastal Walk
Norfolk
Brancaster Staithe to Burnham Deepdale is a classic slice of the north Norfolk coast, tracing the Norfolk Coast Path along saltmarsh, reedbeds and tidal creeks. It is dog friendly end to end, with fishing boats, whelk sheds and the big open sky that makes this stretch of coast so well loved.
The path is level and easy underfoot, mixing raised marsh bund, gravel track and permissive farmland paths, with almost no elevation. Leads are essential where the route crosses grazing marsh, and ground nesting bird protections apply in spring and early summer. Parking is limited at Brancaster Staithe, subject to tidal flooding, so the Deepdale car park is often the easier start. Facilities are good at the Deepdale end with shops, cafes and toilets; Brancaster Staithe offers a pub and a few seafood huts but little else.
