Wandlebury Country Park Extended Loop
Cambridgeshire
Wandlebury Country Park sits on the chalk crest of the Gog Magog Hills just south of Cambridge, wrapping woodland, wildflower meadow and orchard around a Bronze Age ringwork. It is a dog friendly park that combines a long extended loop through eight miles of footpaths with a separate fenced dog run, so it works whether you want a structured walk or an off lead blast before you head home.
Dogs must stay on leads on the main park paths because of the wildlife and occasional grazing animals, but the fenced dog run at the entrance lets them stretch off lead safely. Terrain is gentle, mostly broad woodland tracks and meadow paths with a few short rises, easy enough for any age of dog. Pay and display parking is open every day from dawn to dusk, and there are toilets, a small visitor centre and picnic spots near the car park.
