Abereiddy Beach
Pembrokeshire
Abereiddy Beach is a famous dark grey/black sand beach on the north Pembrokeshire coast, created from the erosion of the distinctive Ordovician slate rock that forms the headlands. The beach is adjacent to the remarkable Blue Lagoon, a flooded former slate quarry used for cliff diving and coasteering. The combination of black sand and vivid turquoise lagoon is unlike anywhere else in Britain. The Wales Coast Path passes through.
No PSPO restrictions apply at Abereiddy Beach. Year-round dog access. One of the most distinctive and memorable beaches in Wales.
