Mablethorpe South Beach
Lincolnshire
Mablethorpe South Beach is the quieter southern extension of Mablethorpe's main Blue Flag beach, away from the concentrated resort activity around the central promenade. Mablethorpe is a traditional seaside resort town with a sandy beach, promenade, beach huts, donkey rides, amusement facilities and a Splash Pool in Queens Park. The South Beach area provides more space and fewer crowds than the central promenade section, and connects south toward Trusthorpe and Sandilands via the beach or the Lincolnshire Coast Path.
A seasonal dog ban applies to the Central Mablethorpe beach from 1 May to 30 September under the East Lindsey PSPO, covering the stretch from The Dunes Complex, past the lifeboat station and up to the public toilets on Queen's Park. The North Beach, to the left of the central promenade, is dog friendly year-round. The South Beach section similarly offers dog friendly access away from the restricted central zone, and Trusthorpe to the south is entirely unrestricted. Dogs must be kept on leads on the promenade during the restriction season. This entry represents the southern end of Mablethorpe beach, which gives the best year-round dog walking experience of the beach sections here.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mablethorpe South Beach dog friendly?
Yes, Mablethorpe South Beach is dog friendly and is actually the best stretch of the beach for a visit with your dog. It sits away from the central promenade zone, where a seasonal ban applies, giving you more space and fewer crowds to navigate. It's worth noting the overall dog friendly rating here is 6/10, reflecting the restrictions that apply to other parts of Mablethorpe beach rather than this southern section specifically.
Are dogs allowed at Mablethorpe South Beach year round?
Yes, the South Beach section offers dog friendly access throughout the year. The seasonal ban — which runs from 1 May to 30 September under the East Lindsey PSPO — applies to the central beach stretch running from The Dunes Complex, past the lifeboat station and up to the public toilets on Queen's Park, not to the South Beach area. During the restriction season, dogs must also be kept on leads on the promenade itself.
What should I know before visiting Mablethorpe South Beach with my dog?
The key thing to be aware of is where the seasonal dog ban zone begins — it covers the central promenade section from 1 May to 30 September, so head south to stay in the unrestricted area. If you want to continue your walk, the beach and the Lincolnshire Coast Path both connect south toward Trusthorpe and Sandilands, which are also unrestricted. Parking is pay-and-display, with the North Promenade and Queens Park car parks being the closest options for beach access.
