Same seasonal restrictions apply as Rhyl East Beach: dogs only in designated exercise areas from 1 May to 30 September. The designated exercise area for west beach extends from the Old Golf Road, Rhyl, westwards to Ffrith Festival Gardens, Prestatyn. Full access outside season.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Rhyl West Beach dog friendly?
Rhyl West Beach is partially dog friendly, though it comes with some restrictions that are worth knowing before you visit — it scores 4 out of 10 on our dog friendly rating. During the summer season (1 May to 30 September), dogs are only permitted in designated exercise areas rather than the full beach, so it's not the most flexible option if you're visiting in the warmer months.
Are dogs allowed at Rhyl West Beach year round?
Dogs have full access to Rhyl West Beach outside of the summer season, which runs from 1 October to 30 April. Between 1 May and 30 September, dogs are restricted to designated exercise areas — specifically from Old Golf Road, Rhyl, westwards to Ffrith Festival Gardens, Prestatyn.
What should I know before visiting Rhyl West Beach with my dog?
Rhyl West Beach is a wide, sandy stretch that sits slightly away from the busier town centre, which can make it feel a little more relaxed than the main resort area. Parking is available on West Parade, though facilities on the western section are more limited than in the heart of Rhyl, so it's worth coming prepared. As with Rhyl East Beach, the seasonal restrictions from 1 May to 30 September mean dogs are confined to designated areas during peak summer, so timing your visit accordingly will make for a smoother trip.
