Rhyl East Beach is the eastern section of Rhyl's seafront beach, a wide sandy beach on the Denbighshire coast. The eastern beach is slightly quieter than the town centre section.

Seasonal dog restrictions apply at Rhyl Beach from 1 May to 30 September under Denbighshire Council PSPO, with dogs only permitted in designated exercise areas during this period. The eastern beach has a designated dog exercise area signposted at the beach. Outside the restriction season, the full beach is open to dogs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Rhyl East Beach dog friendly?

Rhyl East Beach is dog friendly, though it does come with some seasonal restrictions that are worth knowing about before you visit. It sits on the quieter eastern end of Rhyl's seafront, which can make it a more relaxed option than the busier town centre stretch of beach.

  • Are dogs allowed at Rhyl East Beach year round?

Dogs are welcome on the full beach outside of the summer season, but between 1 May and 30 September a Denbighshire Council PSPO restricts dogs to designated exercise areas only. There is a signposted dog exercise area on the eastern beach during this period, so you won't be left without options, but freedom to roam the whole beach is limited in summer.

  • What should I know before visiting Rhyl East Beach with my dog?

The most important thing to be aware of is the seasonal restriction running from 1 May to 30 September, during which dogs must stay within the designated exercise area rather than having the run of the beach. Outside that window, the full beach is open to dogs. Rhyl has good practical facilities including seafront public toilets, cafes, and multiple well-signposted car parks, so the visit itself is reasonably straightforward to plan.
