Abergele, Conwy
Castor stands in its own private field surrounded by woodland near Abergele, with decking and an outdoor bath. It is fully enclosed, and dogs are welcome, on the lead across the fields.
Castor sits in its own private field on a working farm near Abergele, ringed by woodland with expansive views through the trees. You wake in solitude to sweeping countryside, sheep grazing quietly and the odd deer passing by, and the dog will want to be out in it before the kettle has boiled. It is a dog friendly cabin made for some much needed time out.
The shack is fully enclosed for peace of mind. Sheep sometimes graze the field directly in front of it, so dogs come and go on a lead, and as the walk in from the road crosses a couple of fields, remember to shut each gate behind you.
Get the wood burner going in winter, sit out in the outdoor chairs in summer, or take a drink out onto the decking. There is an outdoor bath for a soak, a king size bed and a kitchen with hob and fridge, and with the fire lit and a favourite drink poured, the dog will be settled long before you are.
Pensarn Beach goes on for miles and is dog friendly apart from one section between May and September, and Gwrych Castle welcomes dogs on the lead in its 250 acres of gardens and grounds. Abergele is a 10 minute drive, with traditional pubs and cosy cafés: the Harp Inn welcomes dogs, and the George and Dragon has a dog friendly beer garden at the back.

Book with ShacksFrequently Asked Questions
Is Castor dog friendly?
Yes, Castor is fully dog friendly. The cabin sits in its own enclosed field with woodland edges, so once you're through the gate your dog can be let off the lead to explore the boundaries freely.
Are dogs allowed at Castor year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs at the cabin itself, so they appear to be welcome year round. Nearby Pensarn Beach is also available to dogs outside a short summer section, giving you good walking options whatever time of year you visit.
What should I know before visiting Castor with my dog?
There are a couple of things worth keeping in mind. The walk in from the road crosses two fields on a working sheep farm, so dogs need to be kept on the lead until you're through the second gate into the enclosed cabin grounds. It's also worth knowing that deer pass through the woodland edges at dawn and dusk, so it's a good idea to check before opening the door.
