The Exclusive barn style luxury lodges run from two to six bedrooms around open plan living, and the Roof Terrace Luxury Lodge adds a rooftop terrace, some with a hot tub. The Lakehouses sleep up to 12, the Barnhouses spread over two or three floors with far reaching views across the countryside, and The Paddock Barn sits next to The Lookout Bar & Eatery. Not all of the barns' decking areas are gated, so a dog will need supervising while outside. Couples can take a Superior or Luxury Lakeside Apartment, with patio doors on to a balcony or decking overlooking the lakes.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery welcomes dogs, serves lunch and dinner with breakfast dishes on Saturday and Sunday, and Away list it among their venues with a doggy menu. In the spring and summer months the Beach Cafe welcomes dogs too, and from its tables you can watch the action on the water sports lake. The resort also has the ESYA Spa, a heated indoor pool with a sauna and steam room, two fully stocked fishing lakes and Cornwall's only FlowRider.
St Columb Major, with its shops, tea rooms, pubs and 14th century church, is less than 10 minutes' drive and dog friendly, as are Padstow, Newquay and Wadebridge. Away also list Fistral Beach, the National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow, Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm and the Camel Trail, an 18 mile largely traffic free route, as places to take the dog.
