Six people and two dogs fit happily into 3 Smugglers Cove, a tranquil and inviting cottage in the coastal village of Beadnell, ideally placed for exploring everything the Northumberland coast has to offer. It is a dog friendly family home, and the enclosed garden at the front gives the dogs a place to stretch their legs in the fresh sea air.
Inside, the tastefully decorated ground floor lounge and dining room has comfortable seating around a TV and DVD player, plus a table with space for six, so family meals happen together while the dogs settle nearby. The fully equipped kitchen has everything needed, and a selection of games, books and DVDs takes care of cosy evenings in.
The children's bedroom is also on the ground floor, with bunk beds and its own en suite WC. Upstairs there is a king size bedroom and a twin, along with the family bathroom, which has a shower over the bath. After a day on the coast, both dogs flop out in the front garden while the kettle boils and the children choose a film.
Beadnell has pubs, restaurants, a patisserie and a general store, and the Northumberland Coastal Path leads on foot to Seahouses, a lovely walk with the dogs. From the harbour there, boat trips head out to the Farne Islands to spot seabirds, seals and maybe even dolphins, and Holy Island of Lindisfarne is another favourite with wildlife lovers. Bamburgh Castle is an easy drive, and Craster Harbour and Low Newton by the Sea make good days out.
