What it does have is a double oven, a dishwasher and machines for washing and drying whatever two dogs bring back through the door, which together describe a house that expects to be arrived at rather than admired.
The gardens at the back are fully enclosed and hold furniture and a barbecue, with a locked store outside for bikes and anything else on wheels. Two dogs get a boundary they can be trusted behind and, in front of them, a house where the fire is already going. It is a village of quiet roads and the walking out of it starts wherever they end.
The walk to take here is Keyhaven, 2.1 miles off. The marshes behind its harbour are lagoon, saltmarsh and gravel with a footpath along the top and not a rise anywhere on it, and the water either side is thick with birds. A dog gets a very great deal of ground out there, on a lead, without meeting a stile, a gate or anybody moving quickly.
