This Grade II listed cottage is quietly set in the grounds of a 16th century manor house on the edge of Exmoor, a beautifully appointed dog friendly hideaway for two people and two dogs.
The light and airy lounge is made for relaxing, with comfy seating and a Smart TV, and a door leads from it into the private garden. Two steps down, the well equipped kitchen and diner has fabulous views across the manor's lawn, and an open spindled spiral staircase climbs to the en suite double. The private garden is fully enclosed and south facing, with a seating area for eating outside, where the dogs can lie out in the sun.
Guests also share a 2 acre sub tropical garden of mature palms and exotic plants, with quiet corners, a secret garden and giant outdoor chess, and views over the West Somerset Steam Railway and across the Bristol Channel to the Welsh coast. There is a communal fire pit with unlimited logs and giant marshmallows, goats, sheep and a miniature Shetland pony in the paddock, and a heated outdoor pool in its own walled area. By the end of the day, the dogs are usually the first ones asleep.
Minehead's seafront and sandy beaches are close by, and medieval Dunster, its castle, tea rooms and shops included, is only 0.5 miles away. Blue Anchor, Porlock and Watchet are within reach, and the awe inspiring landscape of Exmoor National Park gives the dogs endless walking.
