Aberdesach, Gwynedd
A coastal house at Aberdesach on the edge of the Llyn Peninsula for four, with sea and mountain views, a wood burner, an enclosed garden a few metres away and three dogs welcome.
Three dogs are welcome at Bwthyn Yr Aber, an attractive waterside house in the village of Aberdesach, on the north coast of Wales at the edge of the Llyn Peninsula. The beach is just a stroll from the house, and this dog friendly cottage, sleeping four, gazes across the Irish Sea with the mountains on the skyline.
The porch has space for coats and outdoor gear, and beyond it the lounge centres on a feature inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, reclining sofas and a Smart TV, where three dogs can doze in front of the flames once the exploring is over. The kitchen area is well equipped, the lovely dining room has a library of books for planning the days ahead, and a games table sets up in either room for some competitive fun.
The stylish bathroom, with bath and shower, sits at ground level, and there are two spacious bedrooms, a double with original beams and a twin, both with lovely views towards the sea and the mountains. The enclosed garden is set a few metres from the house, with a patio, a picnic bench, a charcoal barbecue and sun loungers, and uninterrupted views of the sea, the sandy bay and the mountains for the dogs and their people to enjoy from sunrise to sunset.
Caernarfon Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is 8.5 miles away and Criccieth Castle is 14 miles. The sand and pebble beach at Dinas Dinlle, Pwllheli and Porthmadog are all close, and with lakes, coastal paths and Snowdonia National Park within easy reach, the dogs will have new walks all week.

Book with holidaycottages.co.ukFrequently Asked Questions
Is Bwthyn Yr Aber dog friendly?
Yes, and generously so — Bwthyn Yr Aber welcomes up to three dogs, which is more than any other property of its size in the area. The cottage is set up with dogs genuinely in mind, from the porch designed for wet coats and muddy paws to a ground floor bathroom so a wet dog never needs to go upstairs.
Are dogs allowed at Bwthyn Yr Aber year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, and with a wood burner, an inglenook and reclining sofas, it's clearly a place that works just as well in the colder months as in summer. For anything date-specific, it's worth checking directly with the property when you book.
What should I know before visiting Bwthyn Yr Aber with my dog?
The enclosed garden is a great asset, but it's worth knowing it's accessed from outside the house rather than through it — so the porch and front door are the main route in and out with dogs, which is good to have in your head before you arrive. The shore is a short walk from the house, and there's plenty of wider exploring on offer too, including miles of sand and pine at Newborough Forest where dogs can roam freely.
