Chy Kerrik was renovated in 2020 with real character and contemporary comforts, and it sits at Cadgwith in South West Cornwall with walks aplenty from the doorstep. This dog friendly cottage welcomes a couple with one dog, and its garden is fully enclosed, which in the owner's words makes it ideal for dogs.

You step through a beautiful shared courtyard, with shrub borders and fresh herbs in a planter, into a welcoming, light entrance and one open room for cooking, dining and relaxing. A dining table waits for brunch and plans, and the dog settles by the wood burner after a long walk while the evening's programme goes on. The bathroom is modern and stylish.

Upstairs, vaulted ceilings and a balcony make the bedroom something special, with a super king zip and link that can be a twin on request. From the living space, doors open onto the garden, where lawn and patio meet a charcoal barbecue for a summer evening meal outside, and the dog explores the grass while supper cooks.

Cadgwith itself keeps a pub, shops and a restaurant, with Porthleven and Helston a short way further for a wider choice.
