Cragside View sits in the heart of Rothbury, close to the historic Cragside House and Gardens, and its inglenook fireplace is made with some of the original stone from Cragside House. It is a spacious, wonderfully relaxing dog friendly cottage for eight. Two dogs are welcome, and the Simonside Hills are only three minutes away for walking.
The light and airy lounge gathers everyone round that inglenook and its traditional wood burner, where the pool table waits for the evenings, alongside a Smart TV, and the dogs are soon dozing in the glow of the fire. A dining room makes a stylish setting for supper, and the kitchen has an AGA style range and a charming sitting area with chairs and a table, while a utility room with WC sits on the ground floor.
French doors open onto the delightful private, enclosed patio, a lovely sunny spot set with a garden table, chairs and two bench style seats, in a garden filled with wisteria, honeysuckle and pot plants, where the dogs lie in the sun as the drinks come out. Bikes can be stored on the patio, which has a lockable gate to the lane. Four bedrooms upstairs include a king size master whose en suite has a roll top bath, along with a double, a twin and bunks, with a walk in shower in the family bathroom.
Rothbury is a fine base for the Cheviot Hills, the Northumberland National Park and its magnificent dark skies, with long days on the hills for the dogs. Alnwick, with its famous castle and the Alnwick Garden, is within reach, as are Brinkburn Priory, Warkworth Castle and Bamburgh, with its castle and glorious beach.
