The wall to wall bi-folding doors have been folded right back, and the dog has worked out that this is now one room with a lawn in it. Two lounges give six people room to spread out. The welcoming front lounge has a cosy open fire set in the original feature fireplace and wonderfully comfortable seating. The second is part of the light, spacious open plan kitchen and diner, with a kitchen island, a large table for six and the bi-folds to the garden, and it is where everybody ends up, dog included.
Upstairs, the inviting main bedroom has a king size bed, an en suite shower room and views of the garden towards the sea and Bamburgh Castle, and there is an attractive double, a spacious twin and a family bathroom. The raised patio has furniture for the morning tea, and a further patio on the lawn below keeps the dog company in the garden all afternoon. Pack the dog's own bed and bowls.
Seahouses has every amenity on hand, with the beach, a panoramic golf course, shops, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance, and scenic coastal paths for the dog. Boat trips leave the harbour for the Farne Islands, with a parade of puffins from April to late July and regular visits from seals and dolphins. Beadnell Bay is close for water sports, Bamburgh's castle and huge beach are a walk or cycle away, and the causeway crosses to Holy Island for the famous Lindisfarne mead.
