Firefly Lodge is a luxury lodge for a couple and their dogs, one of a complex of eight set in three acres of landscaped grounds with a natural pond, in Snowdonia National Park at Tyn-y-Groes. The lodges featured on Channel 4's Coast v Country. This dog friendly lodge takes two dogs, and its own enclosed garden looks towards the mountains.

The lodge is gorgeous and spacious, with thoughtful extras throughout. Living, cooking and dining come together in one open plan space, where a large feature glass window and patio doors look out over the garden, the pond and the majestic mountain range, and on a quiet evening the doors can be opened to let the birdsong in while the dogs lie across the threshold. The well equipped kitchen is a sociable space, the dining table is set for a romantic meal, and there is a Smart TV and music for afterwards. Feature windows light the spacious super-king bedroom, and its decadent en suite offers both a freestanding bath for a leisurely soak and a large walk in shower.

Beyond the doors, the enclosed garden has a slate patio, a table and chairs for eating out, and grass where the dogs can sprawl, with panoramic views from sunrise to sunset. The three acres beyond, pond and all, are there to explore, and bikes have space in the garden or the lodge.

Conwy is 3 miles away, a World Heritage Site where the 13th century castle stands over a fishing harbour, independent shops and galleries. Bodnant Gardens and the Welsh Food Centre are close, Betws-y-Coed has forest trails and riverside walks for the dogs, and Llandudno has its pier and the cable car up the Orme.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Firefly Lodge dog friendly?

Yes, Firefly Lodge welcomes up to two dogs. It's a five star lodge set in three acres of the Conwy Valley, with a fully enclosed garden where your dogs can roam freely without needing to be on a lead.

  • Are dogs allowed at Firefly Lodge year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions, so it's best to check directly with the property when booking. What we can say is that the setup — private grounds, an enclosed garden, and single-floor access — suits a dog visit at any time of year.

  • What should I know before visiting Firefly Lodge with my dog?

The enclosed garden is where your dogs can be off lead; the wider three acres of grounds, which includes a natural pond, requires leads — and given how quickly two dogs can find water, that's worth keeping in mind from the moment you arrive. Everything in the lodge is on one level, which is a genuine bonus for older or less mobile dogs.
