Southrepps, Norfolk

Norfolk flint, five bedrooms, and a lawn you could lose a ball on. Forget Me Not Cottage stands at the edge of Southrepps with fields in front, dog friendly, ten sleeping, three bathrooms, two dogs welcome and a great deal of enclosed grass out the back. One of the three shower rooms sits at ground level, which in a building this size settles where the wet animals get dealt with.

Ten eat together here or not at all. A range cooker and a five ring hob face a breakfast island with stools for whoever is up first, and the dining room off the kitchen seats the whole party at one table with the garden in view. Two dogs work that end of the house hard for the obvious reason, and neither is ever left alone in a room.

Afterwards the lounge takes everybody, two sofas and two armchairs turned towards a burner with its opening basket of logs already stacked, and outside a private tub takes whoever wants to sit in hot water in the dark. The lawn is the dogs' share of that arrangement, large, properly enclosed, with a charcoal barbecue and a patio at one end.

Southrepps keeps a common at the bottom of the village, a valley fen held as a nature reserve, which is not what a Norfolk lane usually ends in. Around it the country runs to flint churches, field tracks and lanes with grass down the middle of them, and the sea is 4 miles off whichever way you leave. Two dogs get inland walking most days and sand when somebody volunteers to drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Forget Me Not Cottage dog friendly?

Yes, Forget Me Not Cottage welcomes up to two dogs. The cottage has a large, properly enclosed lawn at the back giving them plenty of space to run freely, and a ground floor shower room that makes cleaning up muddy paws straightforward after a walk.

  • Are dogs allowed at Forget Me Not Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions, so it's worth contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your dates. What we can say is that the setup — enclosed garden, ground floor shower room, open countryside on the doorstep — is well suited to dogs in any season.

  • What should I know before visiting Forget Me Not Cottage with my dog?

The cottage accepts a maximum of two dogs, and neither is left alone in a room, so bear that in mind when planning your days. The ground floor shower room is handy for washing dogs off before they come inside, and the enclosed back lawn means they can be out safely without you needing to watch the gate. The sea is around 4 miles away whichever direction you head, and the village itself has a common and valley fen nature reserve within easy reach for daily walks.
