Ger Y Glyn

Llandre, Ceredigion

An eleven bedroom house sleeping twenty six near Borth, every bedroom en-suite, with a commercial kitchen and an enclosed garden, four dogs welcome.

Twenty six people, eleven bedrooms, twelve bathrooms and a commercial kitchen. Ger Y Glyn is the largest dog friendly house in this collection by some margin, a five star property near Borth with every bedroom en-suite and an enclosed garden behind. For a party this size the four dog allowance is what makes the thing workable rather than theoretical.

The main lounge takes five sofas and still has room for chairs, with a bar area fitted out with glasses, ice buckets and a wine cooler. A conservatory dining area holds two large tables and slides open onto decking, and there is a snug with table football for anybody who has had enough of the main room. On the ground floor two twins and a double sit beside an en-suite wet room with wheelchair access, usually the missing piece in a house this size, and the four dogs have the shortest route from there to the garden.

A property sleeping twenty six is a logistics problem, and this one has been thought through rather than improvised. Every bedroom having a bathroom removes the largest source of friction, the kitchen is built to feed everybody at once, and the enclosed garden means four dogs can be outside without a rota of people watching a gate. Reunions and large family gatherings are what it exists for.

The coast is close on three sides here. Borth Beach lies 2.4 miles off, a long straight run of sand with a submerged forest emerging at low water. Ynyslas and its dunes sit at the mouth of the Dyfi estuary, and Aberystwyth is a short drive south. Between the garden, the dunes and the sand, four dogs will not be short of ground.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Ger Y Glyn dog friendly?

Yes, Ger Y Glyn welcomes up to four dogs. For a house sleeping twenty six people across eleven bedrooms, that allowance is generous enough to make a large group gathering with multiple dogs genuinely practical rather than a compromise.

  • Are dogs allowed at Ger Y Glyn year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, but we'd recommend confirming directly with the property before booking if your dates are outside peak season. What's clear is that the setup — enclosed garden, ground floor bedrooms with direct garden access — suits dogs at any time of year.

  • What should I know before visiting Ger Y Glyn with my dog?

The enclosed garden is one of the property's real practical strengths — up to four dogs can be outside without anyone needing to manage a gate, which matters at this scale. Two ground floor twins and a double sit close to a wet room with wheelchair access, and that part of the house has the shortest route to the garden, making it a natural base for dog owners in the group. Borth Beach is 2.4 miles away, with Ynyslas dunes also nearby, so there's plenty of off-site ground to cover too.
