High Tide is a stylish house in the heart of Appledore, set over three storeys with views of the Taw and Torridge estuary from the lounge and the master bedroom. It takes six guests with two dogs, and this dog friendly house has an enclosed garden at the rear with patio, seating and BBQ, plenty of space for everyone to unwind.
You enter on the top floor, which holds a zip and link super king, a bunk room sized for children and the family bathroom. The middle floor is one open plan room where you live, cook and eat, with comfortable sofas, a TV and DVD, a contemporary dining table and a Juliet balcony at the rear looking down to the patio and out across Appledore to the river. Two dogs will station themselves wherever the view is best.
The ground floor holds the spacious master suite, with a king size bed, a sitting area with a TV, a retro record player with a classic 80s vinyl collection, a dressing area and an en suite. The enclosed garden at the rear can be reached from the ground floor as well as from the suite, and with its patio and seating it is where the day ends, two dogs at your feet and a record still turning inside.
Appledore is a place to watch the boats come and go and sample locally landed seafood, and in season a passenger ferry crosses from the quayside to Instow. The beach is 2 miles away for two dogs who want sand, Bideford, the Little White Town, has antique shops and eateries, and the Oldenburg sails from there to Lundy and its puffins.
