Islestone Cottage is a beautifully appointed barn conversion just outside Beadnell, a converted farm building of local stone set in open countryside, with the village and the bay a short walk away. Two dogs come along, and this dog friendly barn gives them over a quarter of an acre outside, with stone wall enclosed gardens at the front and the rear.
The large lounge greets you at the door, with a wood burner, sofas and armchairs and a Smart TV with Netflix, and after a morning on the sand the dogs make straight for the warmth of the burner. The kitchen and diner is well equipped, down to a Dolce Gusto coffee machine, and its dining table seats eight, so there is room for everyone at supper.
Two of the three bedrooms are on the ground floor, alongside the bathroom, and the third sits on the upper floor with a luxurious en suite wet room. There are two king-size rooms and a twin, each with a Smart TV and Netflix. Outside, the stone walls enclose the gardens front and rear, safe and secure for dogs and children alike, and the rear garden has a patio with furniture, a BBQ, and croquet, swing ball and badminton for long afternoons while the dogs look on.
From here the whole Northumberland coast is open to a family with two dogs. The famous Farne Islands, with their puffins and grey seals, are close by, and so are the castles at Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh. Beadnell village and its bay are an easy walk from the door, and at Christmas the barn is decorated for the season.
