Kielder Castle Cottage sits opposite Kielder Castle, next to forest walks and cycle ways in Kielder Water and Forest Park, a charming dog friendly home for four on one level. It takes two dogs, and the trails begin right beside the cottage, with miles of forest and reservoir to explore together.
Attractive wood and tiled floors run throughout, and the lounge invites you to sink into its seating beside the cosy wood burner, logs provided for the first fire, while the dogs warm through after the forest. Just off it, the sun room holds the dining table, a sociable spot for planning the day with the garden in view, and the kitchen is well equipped, with a utility area and a separate WC off it.
Outside there is an enclosed garden patio to the side, set with garden furniture, and a lawned area to the rear. Red squirrels, a variety of birds and an elusive pine marten, partial to a jam sandwich chopped into squares, regularly visit the garden, so the dogs may well have company to watch from the sun room. Indoors, the light and airy master holds a king size bed and the twin room two singles, and bikes lock away in the garden shed.

By day you can walk, hike, canoe, sail, fish or play golf, hire mountain bikes near the cottage, and take the dogs out on the trails around the reservoir and forest, with Bellingham, Hadrian's Wall Country and the Northumberland coast further afield.
