Little Barn is a wonderful detached barn conversion in Exmoor National Park, with views over the Barle valley, and as a romantic, dog friendly hideaway it welcomes a couple and two dogs.
Coats and walking boots come off in a roomy hallway, and from there everything is on one floor. The beautifully panelled kitchen, lounge and diner is warm and inviting, with a well equipped kitchen, plenty of books and an electric woodburner effect fire to relax in front of while you look over the valley and down to the river. Deer, badgers, rabbits and birds aplenty pass by, with the dogs watching too.
The king size bedroom has a Freeview TV for lazy mornings and more views over the River Barle, and the spacious bathroom comes with complimentary robes, slippers and toiletries. Directly outside the barn is an open patio, furnished for outdoor meals; beyond the car park lies a private enclosed garden that belongs to the cottage, with a communal garden to use as well. After dark the dogs settle in and the sky takes over: the barn is in the Dark Sky Reserve, so star gazing is a must.
The moorland walking is glorious, with clear, meandering streams for a dog to paddle in. Dulverton is only 3 miles away, a vibrant town with pubs, tearooms, a bakery and a delicatessen, and Minehead and its steam railway are within a 20 minute drive. Porlock, Lynton and Lynmouth lie along the coast.
