Loke Cottage

Northrepps, Norfolk

A two bedroom cottage for four at Northrepps near the north Norfolk cliffs, with an enclosed garden, a bath and a separate shower, and one dog welcome.

One bathroom, holding a bath and a separate shower cubicle. In a cottage for four that settles an argument larger houses never get round to: the dog takes the bath, everybody else takes the cubicle, and nobody queues behind a wet spaniel. Loke Cottage is dog friendly, sleeps four at Northrepps across two bedrooms, keeps an enclosed garden and welcomes one dog.

It is a brick and flint cottage on the end of its terrace, which is the local building and reads as one: the front door opens into a single bright room holding living and dining ends together, with a fireplace in the brickwork and a breakfast bar off the kitchen. A dog with any sense claims the hearth on the first evening because it is the warmest floor in a small building and nothing here is going to move it.

Two bedrooms above with the bathroom between them, one a double and one a twin, and the upstairs ends there. That is the shape of this cottage in general. It is small and plainly done, and a week here is arranged around going out rather than staying in, which suits a dog that would rather be walking than watching somebody read.

The village sits back from the cliffs and the sea is two miles off down the lanes. The cliff path east of Northrepps is the walk: brown cliff on one side, fields running to the edge on the other, and a footpath along the top going as long as anybody has the afternoon. It is high open ground with the water always on the left, and a dog will not find better going in this county.

Yes, Loke Cottage welcomes one dog. It's a brick and flint cottage with an enclosed garden, which makes it a practical and comfortable base for travelling with a dog.

  • Are dogs allowed at Loke Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, but we'd recommend checking directly with the owner to confirm availability and any conditions around your stay.

  • What should I know before visiting Loke Cottage with my dog?

The cottage accepts one dog and has an enclosed garden, so it suits owners who need a secure outdoor space.
