Lanchester holds a Roman fort at one end and a disused railway heading west out of the other, and Meadow View House stands on a country lane just outside it with farmland in front. Three dogs are allowed, and one of them will locate the purpose built alcove beside the kitchen island inside a minute. Very little else in this dog friendly collection is built at this size with the dogs designed into the plan.

Five bedrooms, five bathrooms and an en-suite each, so ten people spread out without a rota forming. The kitchen and dining space is the middle of the house and also where the dogs are asked to stay, which suits them: it is the warm room, it opens into the conservatory, and the boot room next door dries a soaked coat and a soaked dog before either reaches a carpet.
