It is a welcoming stone barn conversion in a tranquil hamlet just outside Christon Bank, dog friendly for six, with walking and cycling routes from the doorstep to Embleton, Low Newton and Craster.
A generous hallway takes walking boots and coats. The spacious lounge has plenty of comfortable seating around the cosy wood burner, a Smart TV for evening films and a glazed door out to the courtyard. The contemporary kitchen and diner has granite worktops, a vaulted ceiling and an extendable table seating eight, with a second glazed door to the courtyard, which the dogs soon learn to wait beside.
Downstairs, the twin looks out over the front garden and has its own adjoining shower room. Upstairs are two king size bedrooms with exposed beams, one with countryside views through dual aspect shuttered windows, and a family bathroom offering a bath and separate shower. Both outdoor spaces are enclosed: a large front garden with a bench for pulling off boots, and a private, south facing courtyard at the back with dining furniture, a fire pit and a barbecue, where the dogs doze while the stars come out over Northumberland's dark skies.
Embleton village, 2.5 miles off, has a shop, bars and restaurants, and the golf course, 3 miles away, looks towards Dunstanburgh Castle. From there the dogs can walk on to the sandy beach, and at low tide carry on along Embleton Bay to Low Newton by the Sea and its beachside pub. Beadnell Bay, Seahouses boat trips and Alnwick Castle make easy days out.
