The wood burner takes centre stage, and both dogs will be dozing by its glow before the Smart TV is even switched on. Through from the lounge, the conservatory holds a dining table and chairs where patio doors open to the garden, while the kitchen is full of light from a large window looking onto it. The spacious king size bedroom is en suite, and board games wait for the evenings.

This is a wonderful base for walking and cycling, and for days out with the dogs. Leominster, 3.5 miles away, is a lovely market town with plenty of quirky shops to browse, the cathedral city of Hereford is within reach, and across the border in Shropshire, Ludlow has its producers' market and medieval castle. Berrington Hall and the Brockhampton Estate are National Trust visits close by, and The Grove Golf and Bowl is nearby for golf, mini golf or bowling.
