Oaktrees sits in the heart of Ryde, on the north eastern coast of the Isle of Wight, within a couple of miles of the beach, the shops and the cafes. Stylish and contemporary, this dog friendly house sleeps eight, takes two dogs, and has a private, enclosed garden out the back with a summerhouse.

On the way in, a cosy living room opens to the right, a lovely place to unwind after a day out. Beyond it is the heart of the home, an open plan kitchen, diner and lounge with sleek appliances, a spacious dining table for home cooked meals and a deep, comfortable spot facing the Smart TV, and this is where two sandy dogs end up once the beach is done.

Up the stairs are four beautifully appointed bedrooms: a charming bunk room, a cosy double, a twin and, last of all, the luxurious master suite. Out the back, the spacious garden has ample furniture for lounging and dining alfresco, plus a barbecue, and the summerhouse is stocked with garden games and a football table, so the children have a tournament going while the dogs explore.

Appley Beach, where soft sands meet gentle waves, is close to the town centre, and the sands lie 1.5 miles from the door, a fine morning out for two dogs. The Esplanade makes a lovely stroll with an ice cream, past family attractions along the way, and Ryde's independent shops, cafes and boutiques line the streets. Osborne House and its grounds are 6 miles away, and Amazon World makes another day out.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Oaktrees dog friendly?

Yes, Oaktrees welcomes up to two dogs. The house has a fully enclosed, flat garden with a back door off the kitchen, so dogs have easy access outside and plenty of space to roam without the need for constant supervision.

  • Are dogs allowed at Oaktrees year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, but we'd recommend contacting the property directly to confirm availability and any conditions around your dates.

  • What should I know before visiting Oaktrees with my dog?

Dogs are kept to the ground floor, where the kitchen and back door are, which makes coming and going after muddy or sandy walks straightforward. There's a utility room with a washing machine and dryer — handy after a day on the beach at Appley, where the sand stretches out a long way at low tide. The summerhouse at the end of the garden is set aside for games and children, so your dogs will have the run of the house and garden rather than the whole plot.
