There is a playhouse in the garden at Seahorse Cottage and it is for the dogs: a luxury dog playhouse with its own drying facilities, and an outside dog shower as well. This five star dog friendly cottage sleeps six in the heart of Shanklin, welcomes two dogs and has a private enclosed garden, with the town's sandy beach within walking distance.

Coastal decor sets a relaxed mood from the door. To the left, kitchen and dining room share one open space with a breakfast bar and a Smart TV, and to the right is the living room, with another Smart TV, where the dogs settle once they are dry. There is a WC downstairs, and on the landing an arcade game waits as a surprise for all ages. Two king size bedrooms and a bunk room share a chic coastal theme, and a family bathroom completes the inside.

Outside, the private enclosed garden has a fire pit and BBQ grill surrounded by stylish rattan furniture, and a private infra-red sauna for unwinding after a day out. The dogs come back from the beach to their own shower and then the playhouse to dry off, which leaves everyone else free to light the fire pit. Book for Christmas or New Year and a tree, fairy lights and a hamper are waiting.

The sandy beach is made for sandcastles and a dip in the sea, and a scenic walk along the cliffs gives the dogs a long outing with views along the coastline. Shanklin Chine is a serene place for a peaceful stroll amidst nature, the Old Village has thatched cottages, boutique shops and traditional tearooms, and kayaking, paddleboarding and jet skiing are all on offer.
