Bring the dogs, and if you have one, bring the horse as well: guests at Photo Finish may bring their own horses if they enquire first. Sleeping four with two dogs, this lovely, dog friendly cottage sits on a gorgeous horse riding farm in the heart of the island, set down from the road for real escapism.

Its home is a converted Victorian dairy barn, styled as a mews and reached through a striking archway and a quaint courtyard. The reception hall opens into the lounge and diner, where comfortable seating and a Smart TV wait for the end of the day, with the dogs flopping down nearby, and the dining table is the spot for planning the day over breakfast. The kitchen is stylish and well equipped, and a WC sits by the entrance.

Up the stairs, a zip and link king looks out over the garden, a room to escape and unwind in after a day out with the horses, alongside a zip and link twin and the family bathroom. Behind the cottage, an enclosed garden is furnished for outdoor dining, BBQ included, and at the front is a communal garden and courtyard with seating, plus the on-site dog park for the dogs to run off their energy.

The farm has a restaurant and bar and a children's play park, the pigs and sheep make a good stroll, and the riding is led by on-site professionals. For a family day out, the animals at Monkey Haven and Butterfly World are less than 0.5 miles away, Tapnell Farm and Blackgang Chine are not to be missed, and the island's walking trails, with their views over the coast and countryside, are a joy for the dogs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Photo Finish dog friendly?

Yes, Photo Finish welcomes up to two dogs. The cottage has an enclosed garden behind it where dogs can go off lead, and they have the run of the ground floor inside, including their own door out to it.

  • Are dogs allowed at Photo Finish year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, but it's worth checking directly with the owners when you book, particularly if you're visiting around specific farm activities or events.

  • What should I know before visiting Photo Finish with my dog?

The enclosed garden is behind the cottage — that's where leads can come off. The courtyard and shared garden at the front are not described as enclosed, so leads go back on at that point. The farm has horses on site, so it's worth keeping that in mind if your dog is new to being around them.
