The bunk room has French doors and a sweet balcony of its own, with views towards the castle. Plum Tree Cottage is a light and airy stone cottage for four down a quiet lane in Corfe Castle, beautifully updated throughout, and a dog friendly cottage for two dogs, whose large enclosed garden lies beyond the French doors.

That garden is a real delight: a sunny patio with furniture opening onto a fantastic lawn, apple trees standing in it, and plenty of space for games with two dogs. Indoors, the spacious lounge has a welcoming open fire in a stone surround, and the cheerful country style kitchen and diner has French doors with a view over the grass. Upstairs, the main bedroom is a charming, light filled room with skylights.

First thing in the morning the balcony doors get opened and there is the castle, standing high on its hill. Somebody carries the coffee up. Later, two dogs nose about the lawn among the apple trees while the village is still quiet.

The castle is the magnificent historic focal point of the village, and a range of tearooms, cafes, restaurants and bakeries sits close to the cottage.
