The glazed door at the end of the room stands open and two dogs are going in and out of it for no reason either could explain. South of that, Sugar Sands and Rumbling Kern are two small coves reached on foot, the second with a bathing house on the rock above it, built for a family who came down from the hall. Dogs have the whole of this shore and rarely anybody on it to mind.
