Riley's Retreat sits on the coastal path between Seahouses and Beadnell, away from the crowds yet close to everything Seahouses has to offer, and for two dogs that is the finest possible start to a seaside holiday. This gorgeous dog friendly cottage sleeps five, with a spacious open plan design, a cosy log burner and a wrought iron spiral staircase.
You come in from the garden through the spacious conservatory, which looks out over the south facing lawn and has a table and chairs for a leisurely breakfast. Beyond it, the open plan living, kitchen and dining area has a five ring Rangemaster for keen cooks, a limed oak table that seats five, and comfortable seating facing the wood burning stove in its stone built fireplace, and that is where the dogs fold up after the day's walking.
The spiral staircase rises to views across the golf course and out to sea, and up there are two doubles plus a single and a spacious bathroom with a walk in shower. Outside, the lawned garden and patio face south, where the barbecue, table and chairs are set for supper outdoors while two dogs doze on the lawn.
Seahouses has a great choice of restaurants, pubs and shops, and boat trips leave for the Farne Islands. The friendly Seahouses Golf Course lies a short walk away, and Bamburgh with its famous castle, Low Newton by the Sea, Craster and Amble are all close at hand for coastal outings with the dogs.
