Seaholm is a coastal house at Brean whose enclosed back garden gives private access, by its own external steps, onto the 7 mile stretch of sandy beach that lies at the bottom of the garden. The owners call that beach fabulous for everyone including the family dog, and with six guests and one dog staying, this dog friendly house keeps the sea right on hand.

Coats and sandy shoes come off in the entrance hall. Beyond it the contemporary lounge, made for relaxing with family and friends, gathers comfortable seating round the wood burner, with French doors onto the raised patio at the front, and the dog will be curled up near the burner once the beach is done for the day. From the light, airy kitchen, sliding doors open to the garden, and through an archway the dining room has French doors of its own.

Every bedroom is beautifully decorated. One king size room sits downstairs, while on the first floor the impressive master king opens onto a Juliet balcony with uninterrupted views across the Bristol Channel, and the family bathroom has sea views and a free standing bath. Morning coffee and supper happen on the back patio, by the gas BBQ, with the dog never far from the beach steps.

Brean's village heart, with its amusements, shops and eateries, is a short stroll away, and Brean Country Club welcomes non members for afternoon tea over the golf course. Burnham-on-Sea, 5.5 miles off, and Weston-super-Mare with its Grand Pier are within easy reach, with Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury Tor further inland, though for the dog the best of every day is at the end of the garden.
