Seaview Cottage sits right on the beach and promenade at Spittal, close to Berwick-upon-Tweed, and its lovely front garden leads straight onto the prom. For friends or family with two dogs, this dog friendly cottage for seven puts the beach just beyond the garden, with sea views from the lounge and from two of the bedrooms.
The light and airy open plan lounge and diner is tastefully furnished, with comfy seating, a feature fireplace and a wood burner, the first basket of logs included. Large bay windows look out to sea, and a large telescope stands ready for spotting sea birds and dolphins or for stargazing, while both dogs stretch out by the wood burner. Double doors lead into the kitchen, with its six ring range style oven.
Upstairs, the double room has a large bay window with sea views, there is a cosy twin, and the bathroom has a large free-standing bath and a corner shower. The light and spacious top floor bedroom has a double bed, a day bed for a seventh guest, a Juliet balcony and its own en suite. Out the back, the suntrap patio suits a quiet morning coffee, and up the stone steps the enclosed lawned garden gives the dogs room to play while everyone else relaxes.
From the cottage you can see Holy Island of Lindisfarne, and even walk to it, and there is a coastal path to follow with the dogs for the whole day. Berwick-upon-Tweed is nearby with shops, pubs and a fantastic beach of its own. Further afield are the Cheviot Hills, the dark skies of the Northumberland National Park, the castles at Alnwick, Warkworth and Bamburgh, and boat trips to the Farne Islands and Coquet Island.
