Seaview Retreat

Westward Ho, Devon

A three bedroom house eight tenths of a mile from Westward Ho beach with an enclosed private garden, a hot tub out in it, and two dogs welcome.

Eight tenths of a mile is the closest any of our Westward Ho houses sits to the beach, and that is near enough for the morning walk to be a walk rather than a drive. Seaview Retreat is a three bedroom house with underfloor heating, a downstairs bedroom and bathroom, and two dogs welcome.

The enclosed private garden is at the front rather than the back, with a patio and a private hot tub in it. Whilst you use the tub, your dog has that enclosed ground and then two miles of sand and pebble ridge less than a mile off. Northam Burrows sits behind the ridge and is flat, open and easy going. The Tarka Trail is four and eight tenths, and Saunton Sands at five rates a nine with us.

Underfloor heating is what dries two dogs and a pair of boots overnight in February rather than leaving everything wet until Thursday. The garden being at the front rather than the back is worth picturing before you book. A dog that likes watching the world go past will think it was built for them, and one that reacts to every passer by will want the gate checked on arrival.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Seaview Retreat dog friendly?

Yes, Seaview Retreat welcomes up to two dogs. The house has an enclosed private garden at the front, and Westward Ho beach is less than a mile away, with Northam Burrows — flat, open and easy going — sitting just behind the pebble ridge.

  • Are dogs allowed at Seaview Retreat year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions, and the house is set up well for year-round stays with dogs. Underfloor heating is a particular bonus in the colder months, drying wet dogs and muddy boots overnight rather than leaving everything damp until morning.

  • What should I know before visiting Seaview Retreat with my dog?

The enclosed garden sits at the front of the property rather than the back, which is worth picturing before you arrive — a dog that enjoys watching the world go by will love it, but if yours reacts to passers-by, it's worth checking the gate carefully on arrival. The beach is eight tenths of a mile away, an easy walk rather than a drive, and the Tarka Trail is around five miles if you're after something longer.
