Sloley, Norfolk
A two bedroom coach house for four at Sloley in Norfolk, reached by a long private drive, with an enclosed garden of its own and one dog welcome.
You do not arrive off a road. A long drive comes in through the grounds of the owners' 17th century manor house and ends at the coach house, so the first ground a dog stands on after the car door opens is private and has a house's grounds all round it. Sloley Old Stables keeps four in two bedrooms at Sloley in Norfolk, a dog friendly conversion with one dog welcome.
Be clear about the outside, because manor grounds invite an assumption. The garden that belongs to this cottage is enclosed, with a patio under the furniture, and it is the dog's own ground. The owners' garden is the view from the windows, and a good one, but it is theirs. The lead comes off in the enclosed part and goes back on beyond it.
The door opens on the kitchen and diner, brick and an exposed beam overhead, the table set for the evening meal. The lounge beyond it has patio doors straight out to that garden, and a dog will learn that exit before it learns anything else in the building. A shower room is down here too, so nothing wet has to go up. Both bedrooms are in the eaves and the head height up there is restricted, worth knowing in advance; the double keeps an en-suite whose bath is a free standing roll top, and the twin keeps its beams.
The Broads reach Wroxham to the south of here, and Sloley stands inland of the coast with a drive either way and no hurry about which. One dog gets lanes, field edges and a choice of two landscapes.

Book with holidaycottages.co.ukFrequently Asked Questions
Is Sloley Old Stables dog friendly?
Yes, Sloley Old Stables welcomes one dog. The property has its own enclosed garden where your dog can be off the lead, and the arrival experience is a good one — you come in along a long private drive through the manor house grounds, so your dog is on private land from the moment the car door opens.
Are dogs allowed at Sloley Old Stables year round?
The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, but nothing in the property information suggests otherwise. For confirmation of availability at specific times of year, it's worth checking directly with the owners when you book.
What should I know before visiting Sloley Old Stables with my dog?
The enclosed garden is your dog's space — lead off there, lead back on beyond it. The owners' manor gardens are the view from the windows rather than ground your dog has access to, so it's worth being clear on that distinction before you arrive. On the practical side, the lounge has patio doors straight out to the garden, and the shower room is on the ground floor, which is handy if your dog comes back muddy from the surrounding lanes and field edges.
